In 2009, the first Dutch Lions FC club was founded in Ohio: Dayton Dutch Lions FC. The club began its first season in April 2010 in the USL PDL with a professional team that rostered many former top players from Holland such as Sonny Silooy (winner Champions League with Ajax and 42 caps for the Dutch National Team) and Oscar Moens (former PSV Eindhoven and 2 caps for the Dutch National Team).
